Artificial Intelligence in Screening Mammography

On February 10, MTL participated in the 6th All-Russian Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and ITM-AI Clinical Decision Support Systems. The conference brought together more than 1000 specialists from 72 members of the Russian Federation. The event included an in-depth expert discussion of the most pressing issues concerning the use of AI-based programs and big data analysis systems in the context of providing medical care.

Among the speakers, the Head of Analytical Department of MTL Victor Kandoba made a report on the clinical use, tendencies, and issues of artificial intelligence in screening mammography. The report highlighted the features and first clinical results of the DIARM DM Mammography Workstation Software with TRIO plugin, as well as key priorities for its future evolution including the following:

• Influence on screening scenarios – accuracy and time optimization;
• Confidence of healthcare providers – error reduction, simple and clear results view;
• Diagnosis of specific symptoms of breast cancer.
