MTL at the Russian National Congress of Radiology-2023

On November 8-10, 2023 the Russian Society of Radiology held its annual congress in St. Petersburg. This event provided a unique opportunity for Russian and foreign scientists and leading specialists in the field of radiodiagnostics to share experiences and learn about the latest trends in radiology. Special attention was paid to the issues of oncologic, cardiovascular and emergency radiology.

During the congress, MTL presented a report on preclinical studies of algorithms for noise reduction in X-ray images. The quality of X-ray noise reduction by several artificial neural networks was evaluated using a contrast detail phantom and an anthropomorphic phantom. The results show the potential of using neural networks to improve the quality of X-ray images and, to some extent, reduce radiation exposure to patients. The next step is to evaluate the quality of noise reduction in clinical practice using real patient X-rays.
