X-Ray Innovations at the All-Russian Conference in St. Petersburg, Russia
| The 10th All-Russian Conference on X-Ray Technique organized by St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University brought together researchers working on new X-ray equipment, unconventional X-ray sources, digital image receptors as well as hardware and software systems for radiography. As part of this conference, MTL presented the results of preclinical testing of the mammographic software for volumetric breast density measurements. The volumetric breast density is an important parameter when assessing the risk of breast cancer or the risk of missed detection of existing pathology. Using computer modelling and deep convolutional neural networks, MTL's software helps to determine the ACR BI-RADS breast density category on the mammogram, as well as to calculate the percentage of fibroglandular tissue in the breast and to create a density map. |
